Laphroaig Quarter Cask
The Laphroaig Quarter Cask is a single malt whisky that dates back to an ancient tradition. It is transported on packhorses, which were once the lucky ones because the whisky was stored in smaller quarter casks. The size of the casks allowed the distillate to have more contact with the wood, which enhanced the natural flavors of the whisky. In addition, this whisky was first matured in ex-bourbon casks before being stored in the quarter casks.
This special single malt is characterized by an immediately recognizable strong peat note, complemented by hints of coconut, banana and vanilla. The taste is full-bodied and smoky with a long, sweet finish. The quarter cask whisky is barrier filtered to preserve all the character that has developed in our small but flavor-supporting casks.
