The Glen Scotia Vintage 2016 from the Jubilee Edition is an outstanding example of the artistry of the Campbeltown distillery. This limited single cask bottling, bottled at a cask strength of 60%, comes from a 2nd Fill PX Sherry Butt and is one of the few available Bottles with the cask number 3392. With only 648 bottles, this whisky is an exclusive collector's item that will delight lovers and connoisseurs alike.
The appearance of Glen Scotia Vintage 2016 is characterized by a deep, inviting color that reflects the visual quality and structure of the whisky . The nose is intense and robust, with prominent aromas of wet hemp rope and bituminous cork that blend harmoniously with rich, sun-dried fruit. A subtle dustiness and dry oak in the background provide excellent balance and invite further exploration.
On the palate, the characteristic Campbeltown region unfolds with an appealing mouthfeel. The complex aromas range from sultanas to fine tobacco and caramelized muscovado sugar. Sweet, dried figs and recognizable earthy notes round off the taste experience. The whisky unfolds an all-encompassing sweetness reminiscent of molasses and flows into an elegant, oaky finish that lingers in the memory.
