Jean Luc Pasquet Cognac – Origin and Philosophy
Jean Luc Pasquet represents a seventh-generation tradition of craftsmanship. The small family distillery is located in the heart of Fins Bois, a renowned wine-growing area in the Cognac region. Since the 1970s, the house has consistently pursued the goal of producing sustainable and characterful cognac that highlights the specific characteristics of the terroir.
A family business with passion
The distillery is now run by Jean and Amy Pasquet. Together, they focus on organic farming and are careful to oversee every stage of production. The family believes that great cognac can only be created with ambition, respect for nature, and a great deal of patience.
Artisanal production of Jean Luc Pasquet Cognac
What sets Pasquet Cognac apart is its traditional craftsmanship and uncompromising quality. Every step is carefully considered to ensure an authentic experience in your glass.
Cultivation and harvest
Pasquet's vineyards are certified organic. The primary grape variety is Ugni Blanc, which thrives on the clay and calcareous soils of the Fins Bois. Chemical pesticides and artificial fertilizers are avoided here, as great attention is paid to soil health and biodiversity.
The grape harvest usually takes place between the end of September and the beginning of October and is carried out with great sensitivity to ensure the highest freshness and quality.
Fermentation and distillation
After the grapes are pressed, the must ferments spontaneously—that is, without the addition of pure yeast. The resulting wine is then distilled twice in a small, traditional Charentais alembic. This slow, gentle process ensures that all the aromas and subtle nuances are preserved.
Natural maturation
The fresh spirit matures primarily in old oak barrels, whose mild wood notes lend the cognac additional character without overpowering its fruitiness. Pasquet consistently avoids colorings or additives. Each cognac is a pure natural product that should be enjoyed neat.
