The Strathmill 13 year old Animals of Scotland 8 is an exquisite Speyside single malt Scotch whisky that was distilled on July 13th, 2011 and bottled on July 17th, 2024. It was aged in a first fill Madeira barrique for three years and has an alcohol content of 55.7% vol. This limited edition includes a total of 288 bottles.
An inviting bouquet unfolds on the nose with sweet notes of honey, ripe peaches, quince jelly, toffee and spicy wine aromas. The aroma is perfectly rounded off by creamy vanilla cream on strawberries, delicate orange blossom, a light mustard seed and a little tobacco.
The taste of the Strathmill 13 Year Old Animals of Scotland 8 is impressive with a soft, sweet start and intense aromas of fudge, buttery croissants, orange marmalade and roasted almonds. These are accompanied by spices such as cloves and nutmeg and replaced by the fruitiness of pickled figs and ripe honeydew melon. Finally, candied ginger pieces merge with a hint of milk chocolate in the finish.
