The Springbank Local barley 2023 was bottled after 11 years of aging. The whiskey comes from the Campbeltown region in Scotland. Only 15,000 bottles were filled. The alcohol content is 55.1% and is cask strength. No chill filtration or coloring was used.
Get ready for a truly unique experience with The Local Barley 2023! Each year, Springbank commissions local farmers to grow exclusive barley around Campbeltown. By blending different farms each time and varying the aging in casks for different lengths of time, you can experience an innovative tasting experience with each batch - "straight from the grain to the glass"!
Tasting Notes:
With its characteristic fruitiness, this whiskey has an aromatic nose of papaya, mango and zesty lemon. The citrus element continues on the palate, balanced by sweet notes of manuka honey and pear drip. Mineral notes emerge over time, giving way to a smoky peat finish that rounds off this masterfully crafted whiskey.
