The Secret Highland 12 Year Old Animals of Scotland 5 is an exquisite bottling from a secret Highland distillery known for its predominantly sherry cask bottlings. This fifth bottling of the "Animals of Scotland" series by Lana Mathieson is an unpeated single malt whisky that has been fully matured in a refill ex-bourbon cask.
Distilled on June 8, 2011 and bottled on April 12, 2024, this whisky offers an intriguing bouquet of bright fruity aromas, accompanied by sweet nuances of peach punch, forest honey, orange zest, cloves and a hint of menthol. In the background there are warm notes of vanilla sauce, apricot jam and a final scent of pear cake with clotted cream.
