Langatun 12 Years Vintage Reserve
Normally, Langatun Distillery brews its whiskey from malted barley - but not on this special day. This is where the distillery's first and only single grain whiskey was born. After 12 years in cask #155, it was decided to continue aging it in first fill PX sherry casks to give it additional nuances. It was bottled on March 27th, 2023 and only 345 bottles of this exquisite drop were produced.
Tasting Notes:
This Langatun Grain Whiskey is intense and complex, with aromas of vanilla, cocoa, forest honey, cinnamon, pear bread, Bündner Torte and quinces. The taste is slightly grainy and very spicy, with an earthiness enhanced by flavors of toasted walnuts, dried figs, black pepper and honey oatmeal. The finish is medium-length and dry, with strong woody notes of hay, black pepper and a light hint of leather.
