Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2023
The 2023 edition of Kilchoman Loch Gorm Whiskey from Islay , Scotland is characterized by an intense and balanced complexity and rich fruit notes. Fully matured in Oloroso sherry casks, the Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2023 batch consists of eight casks from 2013, six casks from 2014 and eight casks from 2015. The aging in sherry casks gives it a sweet, fruity character, enhanced by the classic Kilchoman peat smoke is added.
The result is an amber colored whiskey with a variety of aromas such as dried fruit, figs, raisins and dates. The taste contains chocolate malt notes, sweet spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, and a burst of sherried dried fruit. It finishes with a warm, peaty smoke that gives it depth and complexity.
