For the 50th anniversary of the Hanseatic Wine Trading Company, six exceptional and previously unpublished
Kilchoman casks “Sister Casks” were selected and released as “One-of-a-Kind” editions to mark the anniversary. These single casks were personally selected by
Peter Wills and Stephan Ehmke selected the barrels in the distillery's barrel cellar in order to highlight the distillery's absolute special features.
The absolute highlight are the two 15-year-old sister barrels, each from an Oloroso Sherry barrel. Both barrels were distilled on December 4th, 2008 and bottled on February 5th, 2024. You simply have to try both barrels in comparison. This is the 1st sister barrel of the Oloroso Sherry series, paired with barrel 639/2008 . There are 2x Oloroso Sherry sister barrels, 2x 1st Fill Bourbon and 2x 100% Islay . The bottling was peated with 50ppm and is therefore very smoky.
This is not a finish, it is a 15 year old Oloroso Sherry Cask fully matured. Sherry and smoke - a dream!
