Glenturret 10 Years Peat Smoked 2021 Edition
The Glenturret 10 Year Old Peat Smoked is a tribute to the historical importance of peat in the distillery. As early as the 19th century, peat from the mosses around the water source of the Glenturret distillery was used to create the unique smoky taste of the whisky . Today, various sources of peat are used to create the smoky aromas. The complexity of the single malt is achieved by maturing it in both European and American oak barrels. The whisky is particularly strong due to the high alcohol content of 50%.
The taste of the Glenturret 10 Year Old Peat Smoked combines a sweet vanilla note with fresh citrus fruits. The finish is reminiscent of the crackling of a campfire and offers a subtle, yet present peat note. A subtle sweetness and a hint of lemon sorbet round off the taste experience. The gently glowing remains of the fire are reminiscent of the smoke of characteristic Scottish whiskies.
