Craigellachie 16 years Chairman's Stock
The Craigellachie 16 Years Chairman's Stock Cask Strength is an impressive single malt whisky that was distilled in 2007 and will be presented in a limited edition in 2024. With an alcohol content of 53.8% vol., this whisky unfolds a powerful yet exquisite aroma that delights connoisseurs and lovers alike.
After 16 years of maturation, including being stored in a Sauternes cask since 2020, this whisky shows remarkable complexity and a variety of fruity aromas. The influences of the Sauternes cask are clearly noticeable and give the Craigellachie a sweet, rich note. Notes of juicy papaya, exotic guava and sweet peaches marinated in syrup flow into the nose and take you on a sensual journey of taste. The fruit profile is complemented by the fresh sweetness of ripe mangos, which gives the whisky a lively and tangy component.
The texture is oily and full-bodied, which intensifies the taste experience. On the palate, a harmonious balance unfolds between the sweetness of the fruit and a subtle spiciness, which is enhanced by the influence of the hogshead cask. A hint of vanilla and caramel rounds off the taste and ensures a long, warm finish that caresses the senses long after the last sip.
