Benrinnes 16 years Animals of Scotland
Benrinnes 16 years is an outstanding Speyside single malt Scotch whisky that was distilled in 2008 and bottled in October 2024. With an alcohol content of 52.8% ABV, this whisky is presented at natural cask strength and convinces both whisky lovers and connoisseurs with its complex taste profile. The limited edition of 222 bottles is characterized not only by their rarity, but also by the care taken in maturing.
The whisky is matured in a refill bourbon cask, followed by final storage in a first fill Madeira barrique. This special combination gives the whisky its remarkable depth and complexity. The development of aromas is fascinating and multi-layered. An inviting bouquet unfolds on the nose, which shines with a pleasant sweetness. Notes of powdered sugar and ripe, dark berries are distinctive and are accompanied by fruity accents of a wine punch, which harmoniously combines peach and honeydew melon. A gentle hint of wine gum rounds off the olfactory experience, while subtle, resinous nuances and spicy elements of nutmeg and citrus fruits create a refreshing finale.
