Annandale 8 Years 1st Fill Ruby Port Barrique
The Annandale 8 Year Old 1st Fill Ruby Port Whiskey is an impressive single cask bottling that was bottled on November 16, 2023. This single malt was distilled on August 20, 2015 in the Annandale distillery in Scotland, a renowned Lowlands region.
This delicious whiskey has an alcohol content of 56.4% and was stored in a 1st fill Ruby Port barrique, giving it a deep, dark color. The barrel in which this whiskey matured is number 532 and only 246 bottles of this outstanding single barrel bottling were produced in total.
When you open the bottle, dark, old port wine notes flow through the nose, coupled with a heavy sweetness. There are also ripe blackberries with dark chocolate and a hint of block malt. On the palate this whiskey is initially heavy and viscous sweet, but the feeling dries out quickly. The taste of delicately melting dark chocolate combines perfectly with block malt and dark fruits such as blackberries and dried plums. The aftertaste is long, dark, warm and full-bodied and the finish is sweet and astringent.
