It is distilled according to the "grain-to-glass" principle. And: according to Scottish standards. A single cask now bears witness to the art of North American whiskey makers – exclusively for Kirsch Import customers. And who better to select a keg for you than our Inside Sales Manager, Patrick Ahluwalia? Our foodie's enthusiastic choice was a Virgin American Oak Cask, burned to level 2 for lots of interaction with the white oak. Understandable: At a massive 62.5% vol. Cask Strength, the single malt shows complex notes that range from orange blossom honey to black tea and liquorice to malt.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet and full of orange blossom honey. There are also beeswax and a sweet black tea as well as grain and malt candy, which provide grain-like sweetness.
Palate: Spicy! Ginger paired with brewed black tea. Kumquats and molasses provide a harmonious bittersweet note, joined by the sweetness of liquorice bats.
Finish: Medium length with woody tones and Earl Gray tea aftertaste. Honey and malt linger on the palate.
