Vital Spark 11 years
The Vital Spark 11 years is a heavily peated single malt whisky from the Scottish island of Islay, bottled by the independent bottler Meadowside Blending under the label " The Maltman ". This special bottling was first matured in traditional oak casks and then finished in Caribbean rum casks, which gives the whisky additional depth of flavour. With an alcohol content of 55.8% vol., it was bottled at cask strength to preserve the intensity of its flavours.
On the nose it unfolds sweet syrupy notes with fine smoke, rum liqueur, slightly crispy bacon, rosemary, maple syrup, pear caramel and roasted walnuts. On the palate it presents itself with notes of caramel candies, Belgian waffles, vanilla pudding and nuances of sugared almonds. The finish is smooth and creamy with plenty of vanilla and a hint of café latte.
This limited edition bottling is not chill-filtered and contains no coloring, which underlines the authenticity and natural character of the whisky. A must for lovers of smoky whiskies with a touch of Caribbean sweetness.
