Terrazas de Los Andes Malbec Reserva 2022

This wine is made from 100% Malbec grapes sourced from six premium vineyards—Eugenio Bustos, Las Compuertas, Paraje Altamira, Los Chacayes, and Gualtallary. These vineyards are located at altitudes between 1,070 and 1,250 meters, where extreme temperature differences between day and night prevail. These climatic conditions promote the development of anthocyanins, which are responsible for the wine's intense color, and favor slow ripening of the grapes, resulting in a higher level of natural acidity.

The Terrazas de los Andes Malbec Reserva is aged for 14 months in carefully selected, reused French oak barrels. This barrel aging gives the wine a complex structure and additional flavor. The use of microscopic plots for the grape harvest allows for the purest expression of Malbec. Each plot is processed separately to preserve its individual characteristics and subtleties.

The vinification techniques are precise and sophisticated. After the hand-picked harvest, the grapes are transported directly to the winery, where they are gently destemmed and macerated separately. This process takes place at low temperatures to delay fermentation and ensure optimal color and intense aromatics. The wine ferments in two different tanks—partly in used French oak barrels and partly in concrete tanks—resulting in a harmonious balance between fruit and structure.

After the fermentation process, the wine is tasted and clarified as needed before bottling. To ensure the full development of its aromas and structure, the Terrazas de los Andes Malbec Reserva ages for at least six months in the bottle before release.
