Spey Fumare Cask Strength Batch 3
Fumare was Speyside Distillers' first ever peat-smoked distillery bottling. It was made from peat-smoked barley malt, which the distillery only used for a short time each year. All storage took place in bourbon casks and the bottling was neither chill-filtered nor artificially colored. This is a limited release of 1,500 individually numbered bottles.
Tasting Notes:
The delicate character of the whiskey is noticeably present, but it is obvious that it is a smoky whisky. The smoke builds slowly, with no noticeable medicinal notes, and becomes progressively sweeter. A few drops of water increase the complexity and enhance the subtle sweetness and vanilla aromas, which combine perfectly with the long-lasting smoky finish.
