Mac-Talla Friends of Feis 2026 Cognac Limited Edition
With the Friends of the Fèis 2026 Limited Edition, Mac-Talla dedicates a special Cognac cask bottling to the 40th anniversary of Fèis Ìle. The lightly peated single malt comes from an unnamed Islay distillery and was initially matured in first-fill Bourbon casks. It then underwent a two-year finish in six 225-liter Cognac casks. After blending, the whisky was allowed to rest for another month before being bottled at a robust 52.4% Vol. cask strength, without coloring or chill filtration.
The aroma combines sweet almond croissant with fine pastry, ripe pome fruit, and a subtle maritime freshness. The palate reveals freshly baked pastries, poached pears, warm pineapple, and toasted coconut, elegantly embedded in the typical Islay smoke. Gentle peat smoke and winter spices characterize the balanced, increasingly dry, and pleasantly lingering finish.
