The Art of Maturation from Aberdeenshire Behind the name "Ard-LESS" lies an unpeated single malt from a distillery founded in 1898 in Aberdeenshire, usually valued for its smoky character. An interplay of dark sweetness and fruit On the nose, a complex bouquet of sultanas and cashews unfolds, gaining noble depth through a subtle note of dark leather. The Secret Highland distillery is at the heart of this bottling.
Cask Maturation and Origin
It is the game with the unknown that takes shape here in a copper-colored liquid, inviting the connoisseur to explore the subtle nuances of masterful cask maturation. The independent bottler Murray McDavid refined this distillate from 2009 for a total of 16 years, with the final phase taking place in a combination of Spínola PX and Tawny Port casks. This limited edition of only 912 bottles was bottled in 2026, with consistent renunciation of chill filtration and artificial coloring.
Aroma Profile
On the palate, the concentration of 54.3% Vol. reveals itself in the form of intense mocha and cocoa, harmoniously merging with the freshness of juicy red fruits. The finish remains present for a long time and departs with elegant nuances of toffee and a delicate hint of cherry.
