Foxes Bow Whiskey Release 1 is a classic, straightforward blended Irish whiskey—aged in bourbon casks and finished in oloroso and rye casks—a highly innovative blend of finishes in Irish whiskey, resulting in a layered yet balanced whiskey. The inclusion of rye casks in the whiskey's finish, typically favored by American and Canadian whiskeys, imparts a floral bouquet to the nose and adds an interesting lingering spice to the palette. It begins with a burst of fruity sherry aromas, followed by a wave of spice and finished with a lingering, velvety vanilla sweetness. Release 1 has no added coloring and is non-chill-filtered. That all sounds fancy, but this is a no-nonsense, quality whiskey, inspired by a no-nonsense, quality location. This is the first release from Alt Liquor Co., but it certainly won't be the last...
This whisky is characterized by a natural, rich amber color without any additional caramel coloring.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Aromatic floral notes that transition into sweet vanilla and are rounded off by toasted wood.
Palate: Robust yet deliciously balanced. Opening with an explosion of fruity sherry flavors, followed by a wave of spices and finished with a velvety vanilla sweetness.
Finish: The satisfying, long finish with a lingering sweet fruit and vanilla infusion will keep you coming back for more. That all sounds fancy, but this is a no-nonsense, quality whisky from a no-nonsense, quality distillery.
