Bienvenidos in Cuba, the largest of the Caribbean islands, is known for its cigars, the old American cars of the 50s, its own style of music, its rum and, last but not least, Ernest Hemingway, who lived in this gem of the Greater Antilles from 1939-1960.

This rum reflects the joy of life and the culture of this country. After 5 years of barrel aging, it was stored for another 2 years in a barrel in which Venezuelan rum CADC had previously been stored. This second storage gives it a density and fullness that is often missing from Cuban rums. Its original alcohol content was just under 65% ABV, but this kept it aloof and very reserved. We then increased it to 59.6% vol. reduced and it has become a sensational drop.

Anyone who fears that the high degree of severity will cloud their senses should be reassured. The first impression is mild, with a slight hint of oak, apricot compote and vanilla. When the rum has slowly opened up, the palate also reveals a subtle sweetness, notes of milk chocolate, papaya, mango and a colorful bouquet of herbs. Despite its density and fullness, it has a lightness that introduces rum lovers to the world of cask strength rums. You can also say a “Daily Sipping Rum”.
