The Rémy Martin Louis XIII Very Old Cognac represents an exquisite synthesis of tradition, craftsmanship and the finest ingredients. As one of the most exclusive spirits in the world, this cognac not only embodies luxurious enjoyment, but also a piece of French history and culture.
The composition of Louis XIII is based on a careful selection of over 1,200 different eaux-de-vie, which come from the best vineyards of the Grande Champagne. This grape variety, which is mainly made from the Ugni Blanc grape, brings with its mild and fruity character brings out the typical aromas of this renowned region. Each eaux-de-vie in this assemblage comes from different vintages, whose age varies between 40 and 100 years. This multifaceted richness ensures an incomparable complexity and depth in the taste profile.
The cognac is aged in carefully selected oak barrels, mainly from the Limousin forests. The influence of these barrels, combined with the unique climatic conditions of the Grande Champagne, gives the cognac its remarkable aromas of spices, dried fruits, floral notes and a subtle sweetness. The long aging process allows the aromas to develop harmoniously and achieve a remarkable smoothness.
