Papalin 7 Year Navy Proof
Papalin, on the other hand, is a project personally managed by Luca Gargano and dedicated exclusively to rum blends. The vatted rums (blends from different pot stills) are fully aged in the respective warehouses of the distilleries where they were made: Worthy Park and Hampden Estate. Following the success of the first bottling in October 2013 (now a collector's item), the brand has now been revived with two new rums: Papalin Jamaica 7 yo and Papalin Jamaica 7 yo Navy Proof.
Papalin Jamaica 7 yo is ideal for introducing the style of Jamaican rums. It is balanced, approachable and round, whether enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in drinks. Papalin Jamaica 7 yo Navy Proof is a limited version, reduced to 57.18% ABV. in homage to the historical strength of the blends made for the Royal Navy.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Lively yet elegant. Empyreumatic notes, vanilla, candied citrus, nutmeg, coffee and chamomile.
Palate: Lush and powerful. Cane sugar, salted butter caramel, pear, geranium and vegetal notes.
Finish: Long and intense. Dandelion, Lemon, Vanilla, Menthol, Minerals and Cocoa Powder.
