Papalin, on the other hand, is a project personally managed by Luca Gargano and dedicated exclusively to rum blends. The vatted rums (blends from different pot stills) are fully aged in the respective warehouses of the distilleries where they were made: Worthy Park and Hampden Estate. Following the success of the first bottling in October 2013 (now a collector's item), the brand has now been revived with two new rums: Papalin Jamaica 7 yo and Papalin Jamaica 7 yo Navy Proof.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Meaty and full-bodied. Apple, candied lemon, almond, eucalyptus, medicinal notes and burnt wood.
Palate: Full-bodied and sumptuous. Vanilla, plum, herbs, menthol, liquorice, cardamom and peppermint.
Finish: Long and intense. Coffee eclair, acacia, green tea leaves, lemon, walnut and almond milk.
