Old Perth Cask Strength
Kenny MacKay, who started his whiskey career with Peter Thomson in 1977, relaunched it as a blended malt Scotch whiskey in 2014 with the approval of his old boss. With the restructuring and renaming to Morrison Scotch Whiskey Distillers in January 2021, the brand is presented in a new look. All Old Perth whiskeys are now unfiltered, uncolored and are blended in the most careful way and with great sensitivity exclusively with sherry cask-aged malt whiskeys from the Speyside Glenlivet region. The Old Perth Cask Strength is bottled with a strong 58.6% to allow its aromas to develop to their full potential.
Tasting notes
On the nose there is a strong sherry sweetness, dark fruit distinct spiciness. On the palate 60% chocolate, toffee, dried fruits, a hint of pepper and ginger, cloves and cinnamon. Alcohol extremely well integrated. Spicy oak that harmonizes very nicely with the other aromas. Endless finish with fruit, clove and sherry sweetness
