Octomore 14.2 Super Heavily Peated 128.9ppm

The Octomore 14.2 Super Heavily Peated is an exceptional single malt that is characterized by the unique combination of Oloroso and Amarone casks and the post-aging in French oak. Head Distiller Adam Hannett carefully selected over 200 different cask types to achieve the ideal balance of sweetness and nuttiness to create a remarkable taste.

The single malt is made from 100% Scottish Concerto barley and is particularly heavily peated, which gives it its characteristic intense smoke. Distillation took place in 2017 from the 2016 harvest and the Octomore 14.2 was aged for 5 years.

Maturation took place in first-fill Oloroso casks (40%), first-fill Amarone casks (16%) and second-fill Amarone casks (44%). After a year of aging in first fill French oak, the single malt acquires an impressive depth and complexity. The phenol level is a proud 128.9 ppm and the alcohol content is 57.7%.
