The Octomore 14.1 Super Heavily Peated is the heart of the latest collection from the Octomore distillery. This series pays homage to the subtle balance between smoke, malt, cask and aging that creates a holistic drinking experience. Matured in first fill ex-American whiskey casks for five years, Octomore 14.1 shows the power and potential of its exquisite ingredients.
The nose opens with aromas of sweet caramel and vanilla, infused with vibrant citrus notes. The signature Octomore smoke is perfectly complemented by roasted coffee and subtle spices. Part of the 14th annual Octomore series, the 14.1 provides a necessary foundation as a point of comparison from which the other releases alternate and evolve.
Made from 100% Scottish Concerto barley, Octomore 14.1 is particularly heavily peated and was distilled in 2017 from the 2016 harvest. With a phenol content of 128.9 ppm and an alcohol content of 59.6%, the Octomore 14.1 shows its irresistible power and complexity.
