Lochlea Our Barley
The permanently available core release of the farm burners is now here. Lochlea Our Barley is the result of the cask recipe perfected by John Campbell and a blind tasting with the distillery team. The single malt Scotch whiskey from the Lowlands matures in a sophisticated combination of first fill bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry butts and STR barriques, i.e. “scraped” or “shaved”, “toasted” and “recharred” wine barrels.
Tasting notes
Nose: Strong aroma of pear syrup and fruit sweets, followed by hints of spicy jam and cinnamon.
Palate: Lochlea typical notes of fresh fruits and grains with lush light syrup.
Finish: Macadamia nuts, cream soda with vanilla notes and a wonderfully lingering note of orange beeswax.
