The Laphroaig 23 Years 1991 Vintage is an exclusive bottling from the Islay distillery, released in 2014 in a limited edition of 5,000 bottles – exclusively for the German market. Distilled in 1991 , this single malt matured in a combination of first- fill sherry casks and refill hogsheads and was bottled at cask strength 52.6% ABV , without chill filtration or coloring .
The nose reveals a complex aroma of peat smoke, maritime notes, lemon zest, leather , vanilla and dark berries. On the palate it is full-bodied with notes of dried fruits , spices, honey, tobacco and a salty sea breeze. The finish is long, dry and characterized by classic Laphroaig medicinality . A complex and powerful Islay whisky for connoisseurs and collectors.
