This powerful 2007 bottling of the Lagavulin 12 - Year- Old is a true highlight for lovers of intense Islay whiskies. Matured in refill American oak casks and bottled at cask strength of 56.4% ABV , this single malt presents itself in its pure, unadulterated form. The nose is dominated by strong peat smoke, maritime notes , and a delicate citrus freshness. On the palate, it is smoky , spicy , and yet surprisingly balanced with hints of vanilla, salt , and white pepper. The finish is long, dry , and intensely smoky— a distinctive Islay whisky with character and depth.
