"Mark Reynier, especially since starting his Waterford Distillery, has become the mouthpiece for terroir whiskeys - single malts with the flavor of their origins. He has transferred his search for the quintessence of individual terroirs and the ultimate whole that they combine to the rum category A year ago, the first distillate flowed from the stills of the Renegade Rum Distillery on the tiny Caribbean island of Grenada. Reynier has been planning the innovative distillery, which is largely run by residents of Grenada, since 2015. Now the long-awaited first Renegade Rums are here. Farm For farm, field for field, terroir for terroir, the Single Farm Origin Rums Grenada represent the taste - and 100% traceable transparent. Renegade presses fresh sugar cane juice from six sugar cane varieties from 45 different terroirs. For a diverse distillation, there is one next to a column still Pot still with double retort still available - for many aging French, American and exotic oak barrels. The first five bottlings, however, show the curious and connoisseurs pure Grenada rum - without barrel or other influences."
