An exceptional blend requires only three things: exceptional whiskeys, carefully selected wood and years of expertise. But none of these three things can be missing. Nor can they be created in a hurry. Because the art of blending, like whiskey itself, improves with age. Now it was time to revive James Eadie's whiskey. In restoring the "X" brand, only whiskeys from select distilleries that James Eadie had personally purchased were included in the blend - including some that had long since ceased production.
Grain: Cambus (Closed 1993), Cameron-Bridge Malt: Aberlour, Benrinnes, Blair Athol, Campbeltown, Caol Ila, Craigellachie, Dailuaine, Glendronach, Glenturret, Lagavulin, Talisker, Littlemill (Closed 1992)
As he said, these whiskeys were matured in either American oak or sherry wood.
Finally, we invited veteran Master Blender Norman Mathison to use his four decades of experience to bring Mr. Eadie’s whisky back to life
