The Invergordon 26 Year Old Grainhound is a single grain Scotch whiskey from the renowned Invergordon Distillery in the Scottish Highlands. It was distilled on May 23, 1997 and after 26 years of aging in a bourbon cask, finished with a finish in a 1st Fill Red Wine Quarter Cask and bottled on May 30, 2023. The alcohol content is 50.8% vol.
From the very first moment, the connoisseur is presented with a complex play of aromas. The nose is ensnared by dark fruity sweetness, fudge, spicy notes, buttery vanilla nut cookies and a light vinous acidity. Honey sweetness and a hint of orange shimmer through in the background.
The taste of the Invergordon 26 year old Grainhound is characterized by the sweetness of dark fruit compotes, accompanied by aromas of toffee, plum jam with cinnamon and fine tobacco notes. In the finish, a malty sweetness unfolds with cocoa powder, orange peel and dry wood notes. The finish is long and warming.
