Heartgow Seasonal Collection Winter
With Heartgow, the Hammerschmiede has formed a new series of limited bottlings for 2021. Here at home are the unique, anything but predictable single malts, which are always created when you switch between batches or distillates. This results in completely new flavors that none of the other Harz ranges capture. The basis for the Hercynian Malts: a mashbill made from smoked malt - both peat and wood smoked - and non-smoked malt.
The team around Head of Distilling Anna Buchholz bottled the Heartgow Winter just in time for the first snow in the Harz Mountains. Similar to the seasonal character of the ElsBurn Cozy Winter, the single malt is both smokier and milder. He plays with aromas such as gingerbread and raisin biscuits, vanilla and caramel, the typical mocha note and orange zest, dark chocolate and chimney smoke.
