Dalmunach 8 Years Special Single Cask Release
The Dalmunach 8 Years is a single malt whiskey from the Speyside region of Scotland. It was distilled on October 13, 2015 and bottled on the same date in 2023. With an alcohol content of 58.6%, the whiskey presents aromas of light pear, sweet grapes and juicy peaches, enveloped in a dark chocolate note. The taste is rounded off by fresh, grassy notes and a hint of peat smoke. The medium-long and slightly dry finish includes cocoa, wood and spice notes as well as a final touch of peat.
Particularly worth mentioning is that the Dalmunach is stored in barrels for 8 years. After initial storage in refill bourbon barrels, the whiskey then matured in a former Islay bourbon barrel. This special cask type gives the whiskey a gentle peatiness and a salty note that harmonize perfectly with the fruity aromas.
