Daftmill Summer Release 2021

Extremely little single malt, extremely high demand - Single Farm Estate Whiskey from Daftmill. Now the Daftmill Summer Batch Release 2021 is in the starting blocks. Double reason to be happy: With 6,250 bottles, the Farm Distillery filled more bottles than usual. The base for the Lowland Single Malt is barley from the southern fields of the farm. However, the Optic variety grown there was used for the last time in the summer of 2010 for distillation. The limited whiskey matured for 11 years in 25 first-fill bourbon barrels from the Clermont Springs Distillery in Kentucky. As usual, connoisseurs can explore its complex aromas at an ideal drinking strength of 46% vol.

At Daftmill Farm everything revolves around growing malting barley, raising beef cattle, potatoes, carrots and broccoli. Since 2018, however, the Cuthbert family's business from Fife in the Scottish Lowlands has been firmly on the whiskey map of the world: after a wait of more than 12 years, Daftmill brought its first single malt onto the market. The Cuthberts produce their Scotch in very small quantities, sometimes no more than 100 barrels a year, exclusively from their own barley. It is burned in the off-season (June and July as well as in winter), when there is no need to plant potatoes or sow barley.
