In 2021, three whiskey enthusiasts from the Swiss Langatun distillery put a heart project into practice. With the LongValley Selection - inspired by the headquarters of the Baumberger family's traditional distillery and brewery in Langenthal in the Swiss canton of Berne - they entered the business field of independent bottlers. The know-how gained over the years in terms of distillation, tasting and sharpening of the taste receptors? The best foundation.
The LongValley Selection presents independent bottlings from Scotland's whiskey regions, which - if necessary - are finished in selected casks for a certain maturation period to become the finest drops with a pronounced variety of tastes. The LongValley Selection Craigellachie 16 yo Single Cask Sherry Butt comes from the distillery founded in 1891 in the municipality of the same name in the Speyside region. The bottling reflects the character of the distillery and its region of origin in an exemplary manner: The single malt is a wonderfully soft distillate that was allowed to mature for 16 years in a fruity sherry butt. With cassis, roasted aromas, leather, cloves and cotton candy, this Craigellachie makes the hearts of sherry fans beat faster.
