The Chateau Ste. Michelle Merlot Columbia Valley is a first-class red wine that impresses with its vibrant, crimson color. The nose unfolds a complex bouquet of blueberries, blackberries, and mulberries, complemented by subtle notes of barrel aging, such as firewood, cinnamon, and dark chocolate.
On the palate, this American Merlot is elegantly dry, with exceptionally low residual sugar, making it a truly quality wine. Despite its dryness, it impresses with a finely balanced structure, demonstrating that flavor is not dependent on sweetness. The velvety red wine presents itself as balanced and multifaceted, while its remarkable finish crowns the finish of this youthful wine from the Washington wine-growing region.
Chateau Ste. Michelle focuses on the highest quality in the production of its Merlot Columbia Valley. The grapes, exclusively of the Merlot variety, are carefully harvested, selected, and processed by hand. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures in small wooden barrels before the wine ages for 18 months in French and American oak to develop its complex aromas and harmonious structure.
This red wine unfolds its full potential at a drinking temperature of 15 to 18°C and is an ideal accompaniment to dishes such as vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, pasta with sausage dumplings, or braised chicken in red wine. A wine that impresses with its elegance and versatility.
