Chartreuse Green
Chartreuse Verte is a unique herbal liqueur made by the Carthusian monks in France. This liqueur, also known as "Liqueur de Santé", was first developed in 1840 from the original recipe of the Elixir Végétal de la Grande Chartreuse. Chartreuse Verte gets its characteristic green color and complex flavor from 130 different plants, flowers, roots, barks and spices. The recipe remains a closely guarded secret known only to two monks.
The liqueur has an alcohol content of 55% and is produced in the Grande Chartreuse distillery in Aiguenoire, France. The taste is strong and complex with notes of herbs, pepper, mint, citrus fruits and a bittersweet tea taste in the finish. Traditionally, Chartreuse Verte is served chilled or on ice as a digestif, but is also used in cocktails and culinary recipes.
This liqueur is appreciated for its distinctive taste and natural color and offers an intense taste experience for connoisseurs and lovers of exceptional spirits.
