50-year-old matured Single Grain from the Lowlands
This Caledonian comes from the distillery that was once based in Edinburgh and is now closed. Distilled on April 10, 1976, the Scotch Single Grain spent 50 years in hogshead cask #900005. It was bottled in 2026 to mark the 50th anniversary of Kirsch Import.
The single cask yielded 213 bottles for the Cask Strength Collection. The whisky has an alcohol content of 52.6% vol. and was bottled without artificial coloring and without chill-filtration.
Vanilla, beeswax, and spicy oak
- Nose: Vanilla and caramel meet beeswax.
- Palate: A creamy, full-bodied texture carries notes of baked grain, toffee, and wood.
- Finish: Long and dry, with oak and fine herbs.
An old Grain for quiet moments of enjoyment
The non-peated Caledonian combines sweet aromas with the woody notes of its long maturation. Tasted neat and slowly, its individual facets can be explored. The 0.7-liter bottle is presented in a metal tin.
The bottling was carried out by the independent bottler Signatory Vintage.
