Navy Strength – even English Etonboys learned that around 300 years ago the Royal Navy decreed that a spirit that was loaded on a warship had to have an alcohol volume of 57%. If a sailor broke a bottle in high waves or in a victorious mood, the alcohol-soaked gunpowder should still be able to ignite. Lord Nelson is even said to have poured a bottle of Navy Strength Gin on the fuse of his cannon at the Battle of Trafalgar while shouting "Depart Bonaparte!". The Brighton Seaside Navy Strength Dry Gin builds on this legendary cask strength. Not only is it strong in juniper and citrus-heavy without burning, but slightly peppery and maritime pine notes are beautifully balanced here.
