29 Years of Maturation in a Port Hogshead
This single malt from the Scottish Speyside region comes from the Benrinnes distillery. Distilled on October 24, 1996, it matured for 29 years in port hogshead number 11675. In July 2026, 258 bottles were filled from this single cask. The alcohol content is 50.5% ABV.
Aromas and Taste
In the glass, the Benrinnes displays a warm honey hue. Its aroma profile combines fruity and sweet notes with the spice of the port wine cask.
- Nose: Vanilla and ripe dark berries.
- Palate: Malty sweetness, dried fruits, and a tart port wine spice.
- Finish: Long and dry with distinct oak notes.
The whisky was bottled without artificial coloring and without chill filtration. For tasting, it is best enjoyed neat at room temperature. With a few drops of water, you can explore how the fruity aromas change in the glass.
