Benrinnes Octave 23 years
For many years Duncan Taylor Scotch Whiskey Ltd. Pioneered and experimented with using different whiskey cask sizes for aging single malt and single grain Scotch whiskeys. The research is based on the simple premise that there is a greater interaction between wood and spirit in a small cask versus a large cask in less time, allowing for a more rapid 'merging' of wood, air and alcohol. For example, after a number of years of aging in an oak cask, Duncan Taylor continues to mature the whiskey in an octave ex-sherry cask. There is a significant difference to the whiskey after being Octave Invigorated in an octave cask - the whiskey has added depth, smooth - balance that is mostly just the result of long and careful development. The whiskeys in this range are exclusive examples of fine whiskeys that exceed all expectations rich, complex and wise beyond their years; They have become Octave Invigorated
