Balvenie American Oak 12 years
Based on an idea by Malt Master Apprentice Kelsey McKechnie to create an even sweeter and fruitier Balvenie. 12-year-old American oak Balvenie is filled into fresh, again heavily toasted American oak barrels for further aging. Extra virgin oak barrels were imported from Kentucky (USA) for this purpose.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Malty with sweet caramel notes followed by citrus -,
Oak and vanilla aromas as well as spicy ginger and cinnamon.
Palate: Candied orange and lemon zest, vanilla, caramels with blossom honey, brown sugar and spicy oak.
Finish: Rich and malty with subtle notes of vanilla and spice.
