The Ballechin 20 Year Old 2004/2024 is a powerful and intensely smoky Highland single malt, matured exclusively in bourbon casks and bottled at its natural cask strength of 52.8% ABV. As part of the peaty range from the Edradour distillery, this whisky demonstrates a successful combination of smoke, depth, and maturation.
The nose reveals powerful aromas of campfire smoke, vanilla, caramel, and sweet malt. On the palate, it is full-bodied and complex with notes of roasted nuts, creamy oak, spices, and a pleasant sweetness that harmoniously balances the peat. The long, warming finish is carried by smoke, wood, and a subtle spiciness.
This limited bottling, available in only a few bottles, is non-chill filtered and uncoloured – a highlight for lovers of intensely peated and mature whiskies with a powerful character.
