The Ardbeg Distillery, located on the Scottish island of Islay , has released its first exclusive whiskey range for the market: Ardbeg Smoketrails. Chief distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden made the series in American oak barrels and Spanish sherry casks from near Sanlúcar de Barrameda. The Ardbeg Smoketrails has an intense character and 46%. Its taste is both gentle and smoky: it ranges from salty sea spray to nutty flavors and chocolate - every sip leaves you wanting more! Try this extraordinary blend at airports around the world or make a pilgrimage directly to where it all began.
The Ardbeg Distillery has been in Islay since 1815 and tells of almost two centuries of turbulent whiskey history. Ardbeg was founded by John McDougall and bought 20 years later by Glasgow merchant Thomas Buchanan. Under the new ownership it was very successful and by 1877 employed almost a third of the island's residents. Despite its ups and downs over time, the distillery lives on to this day and the stories of whiskey from days gone by resonate in every sip with Ardbeg Smoketrails!
