Annandale 5 years The Piper
After centuries of beginnings and nearly a century of decline, Annandale Distillery rose like a phoenix from the ashes in 2014 with a range of peated and unpeated single malts. The 5 Year Old ANNANDALE Malt is an impressive example of this, as it was matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks from the renowned Heaven Hill Distillery, giving it delicate notes of light fruitiness and sweet vanilla that culminate in hints of chocolate of oak spice - making this Lowlander malt a real treat for whiskey fans not only in Scotland but worldwide.
Tasting Notes
The malty sweetness, combined with cookie dough and pear flavors, combines with an inviting aroma of spices such as cloves, vanilla sugar and pepper, and on the finish notes of creamy caramel and dark chocolate mingle - offering warmth and complexity in equal measure, wrapped in a medium-length finish Finish that has just enough dryness to balance out the spicy character.
