The Allt-a-Bhainne 28 Year Old is the result of an adventurous maturation journey that began in the heart of Speyside. Founded in 1975 at the foot of the majestic Ben Rinnes, the distillery, with its unique, unequal stills, produces a robust yet elegant spirit—the perfect foundation for exceptional development.
This rare single malt spent its first 22 years in American oak casks, where it developed a charming character typical of well-aged Speyside whiskies. It was perfected over the next six years in vibrant, fruity fortified wine barriques from its cask partner, Justino's, from the beautiful island of Madeira. This finish lends the whisky unparalleled depth and complexity.
Juicy fruits, honey malt, and a hint of mocha unfold on the nose. The palate offers an explosion of orange marmalade and fruitcake, accompanied by a subtle peppery note. The finish is long and reminiscent of raisins, red apple, and sweet spices that linger gently.
