Cascahuin Tequila Extra Anejo
The Cascahuin Tequila Extra Anejo is an exceptional tequila from Mexico that is produced in the renowned Destilería Cascahuín. This tequila is stored in American oak barrels for 48 months, thereby gaining complexity and depth. This is followed by another 4 years of tank storage.
This tequila consists of 100% the agave variety tequilana Weber (Azul - cultivated agave), which only grows in certain regions of Mexico and is used to make tequila. When producing this Extra Anejo, the agave is crushed in a roller mill and fermented in open masonry and stainless steel tanks (2900 & 11500 L) to bring out the typical flavor notes.
The Cascahuin Tequila Extra Anejo is distilled twice: the first distillation takes place in a stainless steel and copper pot still with a capacity of 1900 liters, while the second distillation takes place in a copper pot still with a capacity of 350 liters. The oven in which the agave is heated is a brick oven with steam, which ensures gentle and even heating.
The Cascahuin Tequila Extra Anejo impresses on the nose with notes of dried fruits and nutty aromas, while the palate also shows dried fruits as well as some caramel and vanilla. The finish is long-lasting and revives the aromas of the palate.
