The Macallan Color Collection
The Macallan Color Collection is a brand new range of whiskeys from the iconic Speyside distillery and will be available in Global Travel Retail worldwide from September. It consists of five different bottlings that cover an age range from 12 to 30 years and therefore have something for every taste. After a long period without age statements, Macallan is finally coming back to making clear statements about the age of the whiskeys with this collection.
Most notably, The Macallan Color Collection emphasizes the natural tones of aging in sherry casks. The color spectrum of the respective whiskey is also made clear on the cap. This contributes to the high aesthetics and consistency that Macallan is known for.
Most of the whiskeys in this collection have been aged in American oak casks with a small percentage in European oak casks to complete the aging process. The use of sherry casks, which are known to provide their distinctive flavor, gives these whiskeys a unique and complex note that is highly appreciated by connoisseurs.
Macallan Color Collection 12 years
The oak casks used for The Macallan Color Collection 12 Year Old are aged with sherry wine from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. This remarkable single malt is the youngest whiskey in the collection and is the lightest natural colour. It has a golden oak tone and inspires with aromas of sweet oak, lemon and vanilla.
Macallan Color Collection 15 years
The oak barrels used for the Macallan Color Collection 15 years are aged with sherry wine from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Presenting aromas of citrus, vanilla and baked peaches, the whiskey maintains its natural beech color through the harmonious collaboration of our new spirit and exceptional oak casks over the years.
Macallan Color Collection 18 years
The oak barrels aged 18 for the Macallan Color Collection are aged with sherry wine from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
With flavors of vanilla, milk chocolate, orange and honeycomb, the whiskey is naturally auburn in color - the result of our spirit and exceptional oak casks working in harmony over the years.
Macallan Color Collection 21 years
The Macallan Color Collection uses 21 year old oak casks to mature with sherry wine from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. With flavors of tropical fruit, coffee, hazelnuts and dark chocolate orange, the whiskey has a natural warm bronze color - the result of our new mash and exceptional oak casks working in harmony over the years.
Macallan Color Collection 30 years
The oak casks, aged 30 years in the Macallan Color Collection , are finished with sherry from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. With aromas of tropical fruits, almonds, cinnamon, nutmeg and candied lemon zest, the whiskey reveals a natural deep chestnut color - the result of years of harmonious collaboration between our new distillate and exceptional oak casks.
